Android Operating Systems and Apps

Some mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers run on an operating system called Android. Android was unveiled on November 5, 2007 with the foundation of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 84 hardware, software, and telecommunication companies aimed at advancing the open standards of mobile phone devices. It has a large community of developers writing application (“apps”) that extend the functionality of mobile devices. There are more than 250,000 existing Android applications and these can be downloaded from third-party sites or through online stores, an example of which is the Android Market, an app store that is run by Google.

Online stores that sell download-able apps for Android run mobile phones most likely have high traffic levels thus, it is important that these sites are operational at all times of the day, every day of the week. To ensure that online app-stores operate smoothly at all times, these sites should be hosted by reliable host companies.

Information relating to the reliability of host companies cannot be taken from their respective websites. To find out whether a host company offers reliable hosting services, it is best to check out web hosting reviews. Web host reviews are independently run sites that give a fairly honest and unbiased evaluation of a company's services. Reviews give host companies star ratings and publishes user comments – these information are obtained from past and/or present clients. Host reviews, such as Blue Host Review, are readily available on the internet, and can be accessed by anyone, free of charge.
